Pete Lotus returns for 2nd season

St. Laurence High School Varsity Baseball Head Coach Pete Lotus returns for another season in the Prospects' program.

Jim Gurgone appointed 2013 10U Manager
LWP stepped up the staff knowledge on corrective coaching assessment and overall player development with the appointment of Coach Gurgone to manager. Coach Gurgone (New Lenox) served as an assistant coach in 2012 at the 9U level. "It places another baseball guy in the right position to contribute immediately for the Prospects'," commented founder and Head Coach Steve Korbel.

 Pete Lotus and Ken Ferree retained for 2013
St. Laurance Varsity Baseball Head Coach Pete Lotus (New Lenox) and long-time Prospects' loyalist Ken Ferree (New Lenox) have been retained for 2013. They will continue with their roles from the 2012 9U season.

 Erik Ruby and Mike McCormick named to the 10U staff
After careful considerations, Coach Korbel has named Erik Ruby (Aurora) and Mike McCormick (Orland Park), to the 2013 10U coaching staff. "This places quality coaches in the right spots with our young players. We continue to provide what we feel is the leading volunteer coaches in the State, along with quality mentorship," added Coach Korbel.

 Easton Lotus became 1st girl to earn spot with Prospects' in 2012.
Easton made the 2013 10U team once again, as is a proven leader.
Easton Lotus (New Lenox) became the first girl to earn on spot on a roster with the Lincoln-Way Prospects travel baseball organization last year. Coach Korbel stated that Easton will return for another season with the 2013 10U squad. We look forward to seeing Easton compete and contribute to her team! She'll continue to wear jersey #12.

Jackson Ferree remains 2013 10U Captain
Jackson started with the Prospects' as the first 7-year old to make the organization. Since then, he has earned the respect and contributed to each team he has played up for. This is his 2nd season as a captain.


The following diagram represents an athlete as he begins to learn and understand, then improves, has fun, and wants to learn more. In turn, the athlete is back to learning and understanding. Coach Korbel believes this to be one of the most significant diagrams he has seen, for any age level.

COMMUNITY SERVICE

Over the past several years, the Lincoln-Way Prospects entire organization has presented over 7,000 gifts to Children's Memorial Hospital (now the Ann and Robert Lurie Childrens Hospital). On December 1, 2012, the players will earn their level/rung distinction from the Character Nation student-athlete leadership program and add to those numbers. These continue to be the "stats" that matter.
